L&#8217;avion est propuls\u00e9 par un seul moteur et peut accueillir un pilote et cinq passagers. Ses performances exceptionnelles, sa polyvalence op\u00e9rationnelle et ses records de fiabilit\u00e9 font du PA-46 une excellente perspective de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 pour tout acheteur. Mais si vous voulez en acheter un, vous ferez face \u00e0 deux types de PA-46 sur le march\u00e9&nbsp;: le Piper PA-46 Meridian et le Piper Jetprop. Quelles sont donc les principales diff\u00e9rences entre ces deux avions ? Bien que ces deux mod\u00e8les soient singuli\u00e8rement exceptionnels, il existe quelques diff\u00e9rences essentielles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meridian vs JetPROP&nbsp;: des similitudes&nbsp;?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Piper JetPROP a \u00e9t\u00e9 introduit \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1990 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 un \u00e9norme succ\u00e8s commercial. Ce mod\u00e8le r\u00e9sulte en fait d\u2019un&nbsp;Supplemental Type Certificate ou \u00ab&nbsp;STC&nbsp;\u00bb (document d\u00e9livr\u00e9 par la FAA confirmant l&#8217;autorisation de modifier un a\u00e9ronef ou un \u00e9quipement d&#8217;a\u00e9ronef) qui s\u2019applique \u00e0 un piston PA46 (Piper Malibu ou Piper Malibu Mirage). Le moteur \u00e0 piston est retir\u00e9, ainsi que presque tout le pare-feu avant. Un turbopropulseur Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada PT6 y est alors install\u00e9. Le r\u00e9sultat est une augmentation du niveau de vol et de la vitesse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les performances exceptionnelles du JetPROP ont motiv\u00e9 Piper Aircraft qui ont ainsi intensifi\u00e9 leur recherche et le d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un avion d\u2019usine \u00e0 piston pouvant offrir les m\u00eames performances qu\u2019un turbopropulseur&nbsp;: le Piper Meridian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces deux mod\u00e8les offrent la m\u00eame taille de cabine, la m\u00eame vitesse de croisi\u00e8re (260 KTAS), la m\u00eame distance\/port\u00e9e (750 nm), et le m\u00eame niveau de vol (peuvent tout deux monter \u00e0 FL270 d\u2019un a\u00e9roport au niveau de la mer en environ 20 minutes). Enfin, leur cout d\u2019acquisition est similaire pour des mod\u00e8les \u00e9quip\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re \u00e9quivalente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"633\" src=\"https:\/\/faaircraftsales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Fly-Aeolus-D-EGTC-For-Sale-2-1024x633.jpg\" alt=\"piper jetprop\" class=\"wp-image-19558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/faaircraftsales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Fly-Aeolus-D-EGTC-For-Sale-2-1024x633.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/faaircraftsales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Fly-Aeolus-D-EGTC-For-Sale-2-300x185.jpg 300w, https:\/\/faaircraftsales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Fly-Aeolus-D-EGTC-For-Sale-2-768x475.jpg 768w, https:\/\/faaircraftsales.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Fly-Aeolus-D-EGTC-For-Sale-2.jpg 1419w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Meridian vs JetPROP&nbsp;: les diff\u00e9rences<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Les diff\u00e9rences entre les deux avions sont centr\u00e9es sur trois \u00e9l\u00e9ments : le syst\u00e8me, le moteur et les poids\/autonomie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que le JetPROP est une conversion, certains syst\u00e8mes d\u00e9pendent fortement des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019origine du Mirage &#8211; des syst\u00e8mes qui peuvent parfois \u00eatre complexes, plus anciens et qui n\u00e9cessitent un pilote exp\u00e9riment\u00e9. Avec le Meridian, Piper a voulu fabriquer un avion facile \u00e0 g\u00e9rer pour le pilote, avec des syst\u00e8mes n\u00e9cessitant peu ou pas de gestion&nbsp;: le syst\u00e8me de carburant ne n\u00e9cessite aucune intervention du pilote, la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 est am\u00e9lior\u00e9e et l\u2019avionique est plus r\u00e9cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une autre diff\u00e9rence concerne la porte contre le givrage ou \u00ab&nbsp;ice door&nbsp;\u00bb, absente du Piper Meridian. Par cons\u00e9quence, cette protection est toujours activ\u00e9e, ce qui augmente sa consommation de carburant en mont\u00e9e et en croisi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le moteur et la consommation de carburant montrent \u00e9galement une diff\u00e9rence. Ici, le Piper Jetprop ressort gagnant. En effet, afin d&#8217;atteindre les performances d&#8217;un turbopropulseur, le Piper Meridian dispose d&#8217;un moteur PT6-42A, qui est d\u00e9riv\u00e9 d&#8217;une plus grande s\u00e9rie de moteurs que les PT6-34 \/ PT6-35 que l&#8217;on retrouve dans le Piper JetProp. Le Meridian consomme donc plus de carburant que le Jetprop, surtout \u00e0 basse altitude (Meridian 40 gal\/hr vs Jetprop 32 gal\/hr).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, les deux avions ont des limites de poids et d&#8217;autonomie. Le Piper Jetprop utilise moins de carburant, il a donc une autonomie l\u00e9g\u00e8rement meilleure. Les Meridians ont re\u00e7u \u00e0 partir de 2003 (et plus) une augmentation du poids brut (de 4,850 \u00e0 5,092 livres). Les Meridians avant 2003 pouvaient installer une modification du poids brut, mais cela co\u00fbtait environ 60 000 dollars. Avec une modification brute de huit, le Meridian aura une meilleure charge utile que le Jetprop avec le plein de carburant.
